Class abilities

A Divine acolyte is granted divine spells at first level, based on choosing two domains (as per cleric) related to their patron deity. These spells are subject to karma, but come in at 1 level lower than the equivilent cleric for the purposes of karma check DC

A Divine Acolyte cannot learn additional spells apart from at level up, nor can they cast from another magic user's spellbook. They can cast other spells based on knowledge (arcana) as per the faking it rules.

Ritual spells

A divine acolyte also gains ritual spells, these allow them to channel the power of their deity in stronger ways through prayer or invocation. A ritual spell takes 1d4 hours to cast, and casting DC is 5 levels lower than spell level. At first level, you can use 1 ritual spell per week of game time, rising to 2 at 4th level and finally 3 at 8th level.

Weapon proficiency, focus and specialisation

The patron deity grants proficiency in their favoured weapon, if not already proficient, at first level (note this only applies to the specific weapon, not the group, eg longsword not archaic weapons). The divine acolyte gains weapon focus as per the feat at level 2, weapon specialisation at level 6 and greater weapon focus at level 9.

Empower spell

At level 5, the divine acolyte gains the empower spell feat, but can only apply this to their domain spells. This increases the casting DC by +5 and causes the spell to do 1.5x damage.

At level 10, the divine acolyte gains an improved empower feat, negating the DC penalty when using empowered spells

Bonus feats

At levels 4 and 8, a divine acolyte gets to select a bonus feat from the following list. They have to meet the relevant pre-requesites for the feat.

Any metamagic feat, any item creation feat, combat casting, spell focus tree.
